Privacy
This website sets no cookies, uses no tracking or analytics tools and embeds no content from third parties; its web fonts are served from its own server. The server records technical log data (IP address, time of access, requested address and browser identifier) in order to deliver the website and keep it secure. If you write to the Initiative by email, your message is used solely to deal with your enquiry.
The details are set out in the privacy notice. The German version is authoritative; the English and Arabic versions are translations of it.

Sources and manuscript images
Manuscript images remain with the institutions that hold them, and their terms of use apply. In keeping with the Initiative's guardrails, this website keeps no copies of them. Where the Initiative refers to a manuscript, it names the holding institution and links back to the source. Any dataset the Initiative publishes will state its own licence and version.
Accessibility
The Initiative aims for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In particular, this means:
- a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 between text and background;
- full operation by keyboard;
- text alternatives for images;
- language and writing direction marked for every page and every quotation, so that screen readers pronounce Arabic and English text correctly;
- testing with a screen reader (VoiceOver) in Arabic and in English.
Planned Conformity has not yet been tested. An automated check and a manual spot check of sample pages are planned for every release.
If you encounter a barrier on this website, please tell the Initiative at info@arabian-service.com, naming the page and describing the problem, so that the barrier can be removed.
